Through his lectures and conference contributions, he generously shared his expertise and was always open to engaging discussions on Austrian-Israeli relations and the political developments in Austria, Israel, and the European Union.
It was through Professor Pelinka’s initiative that our Center established its close partnership with the University of Innsbruck—a collaboration that has provided our students with unique opportunities to experience academic life in Austria. He was also a devoted mentor, supporting the research of our young scholars, supervising master’s theses and doctoral dissertations, and inspiring generations of students with his dedication and intellectual curiosity.
Professor Anton Pelinka passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 83. With his passing, the European Forum and the Center for Austrian Studies have lost a great supporter, a true bridge-builder, and a loyal friend.
