If you are from Central, Eastern or South Eastern Europe, France, Israel, North America or the Arab region, then the International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) at the German Bundestag could give you the opportunity to experience how the Bundestag works over the course of five months, with three of these spent working in a Member’s office.
Each year, the German Bundestag, in cooperation with the Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Technische Universität Berlin, offers around 120 scholarships to young university graduates from 42 countries. The program runs each year from 1 March to 31 July.
The patron of the program is the President of the German Bundestag.
The program aims to:
- promote relations between Germany and the participating countries
- consolidate democratic values and tolerance
- deepen understanding of cultural diversity
- secure peaceful coexistence in the world.

Call for applications for the third interdisciplinary Kolleg Europa "Ideen von Europa – “Ideas of Europe” 2018-2020, that is jointly organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Alfred Toepfer Foundation (Alfred Toepfer Stiftung F.V.S.) and the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes).
Doctoral candidates and Master students at the Centers of the DAAD Centers’ Network for German and European Studies and their partner institutions are eligible to apply. Very good German (minimum B2 reading and listening skills) and good English language skills are needed to be eligible to apply. Intercultural tandems which are formed at the beginning of the first attendance phase are part of the programme.

The programme is split into three one-week attendance phases between autumn 2018 and spring 2020. The first one will take place in Weimar from 30th September to 6th October 2018, followed by week-long meetings in Prague (17th to 23rd March 2019), Tunis (Fall 2019) and Brussels (Spring 2020).
